happy weekend!
this is a fun little project I put together, with the help of tyler and prairie :-)
when Dolls Kill reached out to me and asked if I'd like to select pieces from their delia*s collection, I saw a chance to make something really fun just for the enjoyment of it- bright colors, glitter, and lots of dancing ! This isn't quite how I imagined it, I have to say- I needed to make a lot of changes and decisions when I was faced with the issue of our footages' quality. I checked out a DSLR from my school's resource library (it's been years, but I used to film with my canon dslr!)
I hoped that the camera would give me a depth of field and a sense of cinematography that my point-and-shoot isn't capable of. However, little did I know (I have never checked out a camera from school before), this nikon camera isn't the best and neither is its lens. I decided to try and see what we could make of it (since we have it for the week now, anyway). To sum up, there was a lot of head shakin' when I began to edit and was reviewing the raw clips.. but I didn't want it to be for nothing, so I made it a short n sweet 'lookbook' that is really just for the fun of it. And now, I shall get on with my school work! Have to say, not a lot of productivity these last 2 days. There's the goals I set in my mind, and then my actual (nonexistent motivation)... haha. But this afternoon as I was on my way to studio, it was nearly the end of sunset and the sky was glowing. It's chilly out now, as this week had the year's first snow. I really enjoyed that moment, and it reminded me that I enjoyed today's lack of school-work (and yesterday's too for that matter). A lot of times, it's the anxiety of procrastination that guilts us into thinking that fun/relaxation BEFORE school is wrong, wrong wrong. maybe it's not smart, but it's not wrong. Although I've only recently learned the phrase "let bygones be bygones" (for the longest time, I thought bygones were a sort of dinosaur creature or something so every time I hear that, I'm like ok sure) but yes, I thought that quote to myself, and felt a bit of peace knowing that the time spent will never come back, we can't get it back, so spend it with confidence.
I also was reminded yesterday of the time I got a terrible UTI a couple years ago this time (and also I was super sick last thanksgiving break too) and this year, IM WELL! Not sick!! yay! Hope to not be!! suddenly I feel blessed being to sit here just as I am.. because I swear, that UTI was the worst week of my life yet... peeing blood and constant bladder pain for as long as I am awake... T___T
that is in the past (and I never ever want to go through that again.)
