We'd just left our BnB in Baling and found this cute little guy a minute into our night's herping session as the sun was going down.

Oligodon formosanus (Taiwan Kukri Snake) found on a night herping session in Taoyuan, Taiwan. June 30 2010. This little guy took a liking to first my hook, then my arm, and eventually my head.

Deadly Multi-Banded Krait (Bungarus multicinctus multicinctus) spotted on a 8/30/09 Tiger Head Mountain (Taoyuan, Taiwan) field herping expedition.

Banded Red Snake (Dinodon rufozonatum) spotted on a night field herping expedition on Tiger Head Mountain, Taoyuan, Taiwan 9/5/2009.

...and gets a serious case of the herps

Taiwan Slug Snake (Pareas formosensis) 臺灣鈍頭蛇 seen on a night hike on Yangmingshan, Taipei, Taiwan in the early hours of October 20th 2009. We had intended to take a proper video, as well as some shots with our digital cameras, but when we removed the safari hat that we had placed over him briefly, we discovered he had somehow disappeared without a trace. Funny how he moves so slowly and gracefully in the video, and yet when he saw his chance, he must have shot out from under that hat like a bolt of lightning.

Banded Red Snake (Dinodon rufozonatum) spotted on a night field herping expedition on Tiger Head Mountain, Taoyuan, Taiwan 9/5/2009.

Greater Green Snake (Cyclophiops major) captured 8/25/2009 on a field herping hike on Yangmingshan, Taiwan.

My spider ball python Zoltan hunts down and gets his mouse. Normaly this guy eats frozen thawed rats but he is still not quite back to his normal feeding self from the breeding season.
Note: any music in this clip is just what was playing on the background on my stereo, no copyright infrigement is intended,

How to breed mice and there setups the basic stuff

Chaz answers a question from Jason Earle

I have a question regarding brumation and cool down cycle for snakes. Is it necessary and or beneficial for the common Pet snake to go threw a brumation peroid..or is this just for breeders? And if so what are some of the temperatures for different species of snakes and the length of time? I think it would make for an educational video.. Thanks in advance for your time Jason

A personal thank you to Jake Olde (Oni Screams) - thanks for taking the time to come and see us.
