We spotted this owl while herping in Baling, Taiwan on the night of 6/24/2012.

We'd just left our BnB in Baling and found this cute little guy a minute into our night's herping session as the sun was going down.

...and gets a serious case of the herps

Taiwan Slug Snake (Pareas formosensis) 臺灣鈍頭蛇 seen on a night hike on Yangmingshan, Taipei, Taiwan in the early hours of October 20th 2009. We had intended to take a proper video, as well as some shots with our digital cameras, but when we removed the safari hat that we had placed over him briefly, we discovered he had somehow disappeared without a trace. Funny how he moves so slowly and gracefully in the video, and yet when he saw his chance, he must have shot out from under that hat like a bolt of lightning.
